To meet the needs of consumers and to promote core competences,many institutions and firms have been developing new types of services. LISS2018 is a prime international forum for both researchers and practitioners to exchange the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice of logistics, informatics and service sciences. The conference theme is “big-data driven technical and management innovation in logistics,informatics and services”. Both researchers and practitioners will discuss academic issues, seize future development opportunities, master the developing trends and exchange the latest academic thoughts.LISS 2011-2017 were successfully held in Beijing (China), Reading (UK), Berkeley (USA), Barcelona (Spain), Sydney (Australia) and Kyoto (Japan) by Beijing Jiaotong University, in cooperation with University of Reading (UK), The Pennsylvania State University (USA), University of California, Berkeley (USA), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), The University of Sydney (Australia) and Kyoto University (Japan) respectively. In total, about 1500 authors from 36 countries attended these conferences. The proceedings have been or will be indexed by CPCI-S (former ISTP) and EI Compendex from 2011 to 2017. In 2015, the LISS was approved by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) to be one of IEEE conference series. The conference proceedings will be included in IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The authors with excellent papers in the conference proceedings will be invited to publish their academic thoughts and methods in some international academic journals indexed by SSCI/SCI or EI with high priority.LISS2018 will be hosted by IEEE Technical Committee on Logistics Informatics and Industrial Security Systems,International Center for Informatics Research of Beijing Jiaotong University, China Center for Industrial Security Research of Beijing Jiaotong University, School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University, in cooperation with University of Toronto, Canada, University of Reading, UK, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China,and will be held during 3-6 August, 2018 in Toronto, Canada, with satellite sessions in Beijing, China.
