Call For Papers - CFP
OverviewBy 2024, it is reported that about 25% of the workforce will be over the age of 55 compared to only 12% 20 years earlier. In fact, in some workplaces, employees in their 60s, 70s and in rare cases; even 80s are staying on part or full time! What does it mean when a Traditionalist sometimes referred to as the Greatest Generation or the Silent Generation or the Lost Generation is still working alongside a Gen Zer or Millennial? What is it about when, how and where they grew up that may inform us of their needs in the workplace today? And what is it about the motivations and fears of four different working styles performing side by side in offices, stores, on job sites and on the assembly line? Can the combination of diverse working style and diverse generation really work collaboratively or is the only outcome that someone simply " can't work here anymore?"This workshop takes a unique look at the challenges of one's working style and one's generation as applied to interpersonal communications, conflict, challenge and change. Armed with the knowledge of differences AND commonalities, we'll strategize about how to become more curious about each one - imagine - a culture of curiosity overwhelming a culture of simply; change! Why should you attend?Whether you're the business owner, CEO, Human Resources recruiter, Project or department manager, team leader, staff member or contingent worker, you are from one of the five generations in today's workplace challenged by generational differences AND differences in working style that may impede your ability to perform to the best of your ability at work. Join us to discover what those differences are - why they challenge us personally and professionally and what you can do BEFORE you say, "I Can't Work with You Anymore!"We'll begin reviewing the realities of how each generations' motivations and needs compare as they perform side by side in workplaces today. We'll spend a good deal of time identifying the differences in working style and even more time finding commonalities and possibilities to become more effective members of organizations working toward common goals. Finally, you'll leave this session with a myriad of ideas about where you can learn more about your particular working style motivators and fears, the styles of others and needs as you formulate commitments to interact with curiosity and ultimately; more effectively in these changing timesAreas Covered in the Session:Five Generations - values and needsFour Working Styles - motivators and fearsReplacing a Challenging Culture with a Culture of CuriosityStrategies for Staying - Not QuittingWho can Benefit:Supervisors/ManagersTeam LeadersHuman Resource ProfessionalsRecruitersProject FacilitatorsPartnersCEOsBusiness OwnersPMI (Project Management Institute) MembersSHRM MembersATD MembersSpeaker:Sheila Krejci, M ED is keynote speaker at Ijona Skills and she is an author, master facilitator and consultant at Sheila K Consulting, Inc. has trained and coached hundreds of corporate leaders, police and fire support staff, professional, technical and support employees and elected officials to recognize and mitigate the risks of inappropriate and destructive workplace behaviors, participate in the investigation of harassment and discrimination claims and model critical behaviors that encourage respect for healthier, happier, more productive workplaces.Register: https://www.ijonaskills.us/webinarDetails?webinarid=559&speakerid=160&domain=4Contact Info:Ijona SkillsEmail: supportijonaskills.usVisit: https://www.ijonaskills.us/soft-skills-trainingPhone: +1 302-830-3132
