●ATDMAE 2019 Speakers

1.Prof. Ian R. McAndrew,Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society,Capitol Technology University, USA

An internationally recognized leader in aerodynamics research and expert on low-speed flight, Dr. McAndrew has five degrees: a PhD, two master’s degrees and two bachelor’s degrees. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Dr. McAndrew chairs several international conferences and journals and is invited to give keynote speeches all over the world. He started his career in the automotive industry as an engine designer, and has worked at several universities across the globe. Dr. McAndrew is dean of doctoral programs at Capitol.

Title: Cybersecurity in the Design and Production Process.

2.Prof. Kai H. Luo,leader of the UK Consortium On Mesoscale Engineering Sciences (UKCOMES),University College London, UK

Professor Luo has a PhD (1992) from Cambridge University and has held various academic positions at Imperial College London, Queen Mary, University of London and University of Southampton. He became a full professor of the University of London in 2002 and held the Chair of Energy Systems in the University of Southampton from 2004 to 2013. Prof Luo led the UK Consortium on Computational Combustion for Engineering Applications funded by the EPSRC during 2002 – 2010. He is currently the leader of the UK Consortium On Mesoscale Engineering Sciences (UKCOMES) funded by the EPSRC. He has held various international/academic exchange/advisory positions.

3.Prof. Tongming Zhou,The University of Western Australia, Australia

Tongming Zhou is a Professor in Department of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering, The University of Western Australia. He received his PhD from The University of Newcastle, Australia, in 1999. After working as a post-doc fellow in the same university for about two years, he joined Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in October 2000. In July 2007, he left NTU and joined The University of Western Australia. His current main research activities include: (a) vortex shedding from single and multiple bluff bodies; (b) suppression of vortex shedding and VIV using various passive methods to reduce hazards on slender cylindrical structures; (c) enhancement of VIV and galloping of bluff structures using various passive methods to improve the power density for hydrokinetic energy harvesting; (d) resonance of waves in the gap between a floating LNG facility and a LNG carrier and (e) liquid sloshing in partially-filled tanks.

Title of Speech: Vortex structures around multiple circular cylinders arranged in tandem
