4th EAI International Conference on Safety and Security in Internet of ThingsNOVEMBER 6-7, 2017 | VALENCIA, SPAINhttp://securityiot.eu/2017/show/homeCo-locationSaSeIoT 2017 is co-located with the 3rd EAI International Conference onInteroperability in IoT [InterIoT 2017](http://interoperabilityiot.org/2017/show/home)ScopeThe infrastructure of large cities is getting more and more vulnerable tonatural and man-made disasters. Complex ICT infrastructures, criticaldependencies, and unforeseen cascading effects can aggravate single hazardevents to a threatening crisis of whole infrastructures. With the densepopulation and the critical dependency on infrastructures, such crises becomea serious threat to the safety and security of citizens and industries. When the "unforeseen" happens, public security comes to its limits. Whethercyber, natural or industrial disasters - effective risk management must be acontinuous process that recognizes new threats and opportunities, in particularin relation to new technological evolutions.Internet of Things (IoT) will have an enormous impact on our futureinfrastructures. In the context of safety and security, this is at the sametime a challenge (How can we design IoT infrastructures secure and resilient?)and an opportunity (How can we use IoT for better safety and security?).In particular, in urban environments, the increasing deployments of IoTtechnologies and the rise of sensored and automated cities are opening upnew avenues of threads and opportunities towards public safety and security.Although, there has been a number of deployment of diverse IoT systems, ourunderstanding of these systems and their implications in the context of safetyand security has just scratched the surface.TopicsThe conference solicits original and inspiring research contributions fromtechnology experts, researchers, designers, practitioners in academia, authorities, and industry, and promises to offer a highly interactive forum toshare knowledge, experiences, and best practices primarily in the followingmain (but not limited to) application-oriented themes:* Ensuring the resilience and security of IoT dependent infrastructures- Models, methods, and tools for testing IoT infrastructures- Design of resilient IoT infrastructures- Detection, prevention, response and mitigation of cyber threats to IoT- Trust and identity management in IoT- Security protocols in IoT- Risk analysis and management for IoT infrastructures- Threat modeling in IoT* Using IoT for crisis and emergency management- IoT for threat and hazard detection- IoT for situation-awareness- IoT for crisis and emergency response- IoT for command & control- IoT for emergency forces* Privacy in IoT* Security and IoT CloudificationPublicationAll accepted papers will be submitted for publication in Springer and madeavailable through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world's largestscientific libraries.Proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services:EI, ISI Thomson's Scientific and Technical Proceedings at Web of Science,Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI's own EU Digital Library(EUDL).Accepted authors will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers toSpecial Issue in EAI Endorsed Transactions on Internet of Things.AwardsThe best paper award is sponsored by the Journal of Sensor and Actuator Network(http://www.mdpi.com/journal/jsan), and thebest papers will be published in its special issue on Security and Privacy(http://www.mdpi.com/journal/jsan/special_issues/security_privacy).SubmissionPapers must be original contributions written in English and must be submittedat (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=saseiot2017). The limit is 10 pages. Please upload all submissions in [Springer LNICST format](http://securityiot.eu/2017/show/authors-kit). Submissions must notsubstantially overlap with papers that have been published or that aresimultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference/workshop with formalproceedings.Important DatesFull Paper Submission : 15 July 2017 ** hard deadline **Notification and Registration opens : 1 September 2017Camera-ready : 15 September 2017Start of Conference : 6 November 2017End of Conference : 7 November 2017General ChairsHakima Chaouchi , Institut Mines Telecom-Telecom Sud Paris, FranceAlban Gabillon , University of French Polynesia, French PolynesiaTechnical Program Committee ChairsFrederic Cuppens, IMT Atlantic, FranceNora Cuppen , IMT Atlantic, FrancePublicity and Tutorials ChairFiras Al Khalil , University College Cork, IrelandWeb ChairThomas Bourgeau , Blumenlab, FranceInternational Program CommiteePlease check the conference website at(http://securityiot.eu/2017/show/prog-com)
