    Each year the Society for the Study of Emerging Markets (SSEM) holds a euro-conference jointly with top institutions and universities in Europe. This year’s conference will be held with University of Thessaly. Euroconference2017 will bring together researchers interested in studying policy issues on emerging and developing economies. We welcome submissions related to economic growth and development, domestic and international institutions, monetary and fiscal policy, banking and financial markets, economic and regional integration, energy and security, international business and globalization, and other relevant issues related to emerging and developing countries. We welcome both micro and macro empirical studies and experiments in these and related areas. Participants are invited to submit their individual papers for presentation or to propose an entire panel consisting of four papers.     The aim of the conference is to bring together economists from different fields of Emerging and Developing Economies Research in order to share ideas.

    The topics to be covered include (but are not limited to):

    1) Capital flows and macroeconomic and financial stability

    2) Spillovers between advanced economies and emerging economies

    3) Challenges for emerging markets economic growth and financial stability, and implications for the global economy

    4) Institutional development and reforms and their impacts on the real and financial sectors

    5) Relative role of institutions versus economic policies for the economic growth and development

    6) International institutions such as the IMF, World Bank, WTO, and their impact on emerging economies' performance

    7) Impact of the global financial crisis, and European and Greek crises on the real and financial sectors

    8) Regional economic integration and the cross-border trade and investment among the emerging economies

    9) Comparative studies on the economic transition and system changes in Asia, Europe and the Americas

    10) Country-specific studies on the reforms of financial markets, industrial and technology sectors, foreign trade and investment regimes, etc.

    11) Vulnerabilities in emerging market economies and policy options

    12) Monetary policies and fiscal policies, their interactions, and their effects on the economies

    13) Sustainable development of the global economy and emerging markets in the context of arising geo-political conflicts

    14) Economic growth and development,
