    UNRAVELLING THE POLITICS OF DISARRAY

Fifth Annual Postgraduate Conference in Politics and International Relations

University of Nottingham, 15th June 2017

    Clive Granger Building, University Park

The new challenges facing societies across the globe have dismantled the conventional politics of stability, consensus and peace. Faced with increasing complexity, unpredictability and chaos, the fields of politics and international relations are subject to rethinking the ways in which the political phenomena of the present day can be interpreted and explained.

The 5th Annual Nottingham Postgraduate Conference in Politics and International Relations invites postgraduate and early-career researchers to reflect upon the unfolding politics of disarray and the potential avenues for reinvigorating political research in the age of crisis. The conference will feature a keynote from Werner Bonefeld, Professor of Politics at the University of York.

Submissions might include, but are not limited to:

    • Re-imagining ‘the Political’

    • Transformations in Global Political Economy

    • Geopolitics in Flux

    • Social Movements of Resistance and Dissent

    • Politics of Identity

    • Past, Present and Future of European (Dis-) Integration

    • British Politics in Crisis

    • Extremism and Political Violence

    • Technology Transforming Politics

    • Politics of Popular Culture

Please submit an abstract of 300 words, full name and institutional affiliation for a 15-minute presentation, specifying the stream you would like to be considered for. The extended deadline for submissions is Friday 7th April at 5pm.

For abstract submissions, registration and general enquiries (including any dietary requirements for a complimentary dinner) please email polgradconfatnottingham.ac.uk

Applicants will be informed of final decisions by 14th April 2017.
