Call For Papers - CFP
IEEE ScalCom 2017Nowadays parallel architectures are ubiquitous and the arena of computingand communicating devices is quickly reaching an unprecedented scale. The trend is to keep increasing both the number of cores in a single deviceas well as the number of communicating devices. In this massively paralleland heterogeneous context, the need for scalable computing is everywhereand scalability is rapidly becoming a central aspect of computing. The 17th IEEE International Conference on Scalable Computing andCommunications(ScalCom 2017) provides a forum for researchers willing to present theiroriginal work on scalable parallel and distributed computing. ScalComoffers aunique opportunity to exchange ideas at the highest technical levelrelated tocommunication networks, performance analysis, distributed applications withparticular emphasis on scalability. We invite submissions of high-quality research papers describing fullydeveloped results or on-going foundational and applied work relating to allaspects of scalable computing and communications. The program committeewillinterpret it very broadly; everything from engineering principles topracticalexperiences on different levels of a parallel and distributed systemincludingHigh Performance Computing (HPC), massively parallel systems andheterogeneouscomputing. We particularly encourage submissions on topics of emerginginterestin the research and development communities. The topics of the 17th IEEE International Conference on ScalableComputing andCommunications include, but are not limited to:Cloud & fog computing:X as a Service, where X includes Backend, Business Process, Database,Infrastructure, Network, Platform, Security, Software, and Storageperformance, dependability, and service level agreementscloud programming models and toolsfog computing algorithms and infrastructures.Extreme scale, multi-core, GPU, accelerators and novel architecturesfor Scalability-Rethinking:parallel programming models and toolsGPU, MIC, and FPGA based parallel systems, heterogeneous platformsExtreme scale systems and applicationspeta-scale and exa-scale workloadshigh-performance and high-throughput computingfault-tolerance in large scale applicationsnear-data processing and data-centric approaches.Modelling and Simulation of Large Complex Systems:cellular automata, genetic algorithms, neural networks, swarmIntelligence implementationsintegrated approach to optimization and simulationhigh-performance Software developed to solve science (e.g., biological, physical, and social), engineering, medicine, and humanities problems.Mobile, wireless and pervasive computing:queueing theory; design and performance analysis of communication networksdistributed applications with emphasis on scalability; distributedapplications deploymentinternet of things, communication protocols, energy aware computingpervasive computing, distributed roboticsconvergence of communication and computing.Tools for Big Data:statistical data miningextreme big dataHadoopconvergence of IoT, cloud and big dataAssociated Activities:Panels on SCalable Computing and Communications ChallengesIndustrial Forum on Innovations and EngineeringDemo/Expo, TutorialsCo-located Conferences:The 14th IEEE Int'l Conf. on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing (UIC2017)The 14th IEEE Int'l Conf. on Advanced and Trusted Computing (ATC 2017)The 3rd IEEE Smart World CongressThe 3rd IEEE Int'l Conf. on Cloud and Big Data Computing (CBDCom 2017)The 3rd IEEE Int'l Conf. on Internet of People (IoP 2017)The 2017 Int'l Conf. on Smart City Innovations (SCI 2017)Paper Submission:Prospective authors should submit a full paper not exceeding 8 pages inlength, followingthe IEEE proceedings format. Over-length submissions will not beaccepted. Submissionswill be judged on correctness, relevance, originality, significance, andclarity.Paper Publication:Accepted conference papers will be published by IEEE (IEEE-DL and EIindexed).
