Rimini is a city with 146,606 residents in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy and capital city of the Province of Rimini. Founded by the Romans in 268 BC, Rimini boasts a 2,000-year history that has left important marks testifying to its grandeur. In the 19th century, Rimini was one of the most active cities in the revolutionary front, hosting many of the movements intended at the unification of Italy. Rimini has a humid subtropical climate; Humidity is high all year round, with a minimum of 72 percent in June and July and a max. of 84 percent in November and December. Rimini’s population is mostly Catholic. Rimini is a major international tourist destination and seaside resort, among the most famous ones in Europe. The city’s others economic sectors, such as services, commerce, construction industry, have been influenced by the development of tourism.
