*** Second Call for Tutorial Proposals ***22nd ACM International Conference on Intelligent User InterfacesIUI 2017St. Raphael Resort, Limassol, CyprusMarch 13-16, 2017http://iui.acm.org/2017OverviewACM IUI 2017 is the 22nd annual meeting of the intelligent interfacescommunity and serves as a premier international forum for reportingoutstanding research and development on intelligent user interfaces.The 22nd edition of the conference will be held in Limassol, Cyprus.Limassol (or Lemesos) is a multicultural bustling town, flanked by twoancient cities, Amathus and Kourion, and guarded by the AmathusianAphrodite and Appolo Hylates. It is a town of great visual diversity andcontrast from spectacular seafront views, historic places like the mediaevalCastle, and Byzantine churches. Along the 17 km long sandy beaches, twoMarinas, world renowned 5 star hotels, and a most exciting dining, shopping,nightlife and yachting scene create a year-round vibrant lifestyle well beyondthe expectations of a Mediterranean island.ACM IUI is where the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) community meetsthe Artificial Intelligence (AI), with contributions from related fields such aspsychology, behavioral science, cognitive science, computer graphics, designor the arts. Our focus is to improve the interaction between humans andmachines, by leveraging both more traditional HCI approaches, as well assolutions that involve state-of-the art AI techniques such as machinelearning, natural language processing, data mining, knowledgerepresentation and reasoning. ACM IUI welcomes contribution from anyrelevant arena: academia, business, or non-profit organizations.IUI 2017 is pleased to invite tutorial proposals. Tutorials offer the communityan opportunity to learn about the state-of-the-art concepts and techniquesand allow the presenters to share their expertise. We invite proposals fromactive researchers and experienced presenters. Ideally, a tutorial will coverthe state-of-the-art research and development in a specific area stronglyrelated to IUI. Tutorials on interdisciplinary areas, novel or fast growingdirections, and significant practical applications are also encouraged.Each accepted tutorial will receive one free IUI 2017 registration.Submission GuidelinesThe proposals should be PDF documents not exceeding 3 pages, submittedby e-mail to the tutorial chairs at: workshop2017iui.acm.org.We encourage prospective presenters to contact the tutorial chairs inadvance and discuss their tutorial ideas. Each tutorial proposal shouldprovide the following information:· Name and title: Your name, the tutorial title and the expected length ofyour tutorial (up to half a day).· Description of tutorial topic and goal: Detailed outline of the tutorial,along with descriptions of the objectives, its relevance to IUI, benefitsto the attendees, and course materials/handouts (links to onlinematerials encouraged).· Organizers: Name, email address, and affiliation of each presenter.
